Prayer
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.”
Ephesians 6v18
We consider prayer to be an essential part of our lives as Christians as it is the means of maintaining and deepening our relationship with God, our heavenly Father. Jesus did nothing without first praying to His Father and when instructing His disciples about prayer said ‘When you pray …’, not ‘If you pray …’.
It is also central to our life as a church, whether we are thanking and praising God, seeking Him for guidance, crying out to Him for help or bringing others before Him. We are totally reliant on our loving, heavenly Father and believe that He hears and answers our prayers.
“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Hebrews 4v16
As well as prayer being an important part of our services and small group meetings, there is an opportunity every Wednesday morning for us to meet together for prayer. This may cover the needs of the church, the local community or the world. We would love to pray for you. If you have any prayer requests please let us know – email the church office, or send a message via Facebook messenger from our Facebook page.
The churches of Walton on Thames are joining together to pray for the town and for the nation. The meeting is online, via Zoom, normally on the last Wednesday of each month, from 7.00-8.00 pm. Please email office@waltonbc.org for details.
